Road safety is an issue of prime concern to all. Be it a pedestrian, rickshaw puller or any other vehicle driver, anyone can fall prey to the mishaps on roads. The global status report on road safety estimates that more than 2,31,000 people are killed in road traffic crashes in India every year, which is more than the number of deaths caused due to deadly diseases.

Maps made an attempt to create awareness by sensitizing students towards the importance of safety while driving and walking on the roads by celebrating road safety day.

Numerous activities were conducted in the school on the topic road safety

Class 1: A colouring activity was organised for the students of class 1 where in they had to colour the picture of traffic light and understand the significance of each light. The teachers discussed the issues of rash driving, road rage with special mention about minor driving. The activity inspired students to act responsibly on the road and make Indian roads the safest in the world.

Class 2: A Traffic awareness activity was held  in school premises by the students of grade 2. They enthusiastically observed and participated in the activity which focused attention on the importance of observing traffic rules in order to prevent accidents on road. The classes incorporated the display of safe traffic rules. Poster highlighting the observance of traffic rules were displayed at strategic points to draw attention of the students towards 'Road Safety.

Class 3: To inculcate the seriousness of the above topic students of class third a wrote beautiful acrostic poems on the theme 'Road Safety'. They were also made aware about the consequences of not following the road safety rules . Students were encouraged to share any one measure through which they can spread the message of road safety around them. 

Class 4: Students of Class 4 showed their responsible attitude by writing Road Safety Rules and depicting them with beautiful pictures.
This activity helped them in learning about various rules which everyone should follow to be safe on roads. These rules not only ensure one's own safety but also the safety of other commuters on the road.

Class 5: To spread an awareness about the school safety rules, Class V students made posters on rules of road safety and provided an insight into the various road safety rules that can help an individual to have safe travel on the road.

Class 12: Class 12th conducted the morning assembly on the theme road safety to make the students understand the need to follow safety rules. A short video was shown to awaken the young generation from their slumbers about harm they are causing to themselves and others by not following the rules. Students understood the fatal consequences of using mobile phones while driving a vehicle.
